Five and a half months ago I struggled to run a full 3km run and now I have completed a marathon (42km), so if any one wants to know my secret weapon - GREGG MARSH personal trainer at Mindbodyfree, he works miracles...I completed the race in 04:21:56 which I was very pleased with for my first ever marathon. No injuries or pains….but it was definitely the hardest physical thing I have ever done but well worth it when I crossed the finish line !! At the end I did say to my self "I would never run a marathon again" but I have already changed my mind and applied for the London Marathon. Think I now have the marathon bug.

Gregg's plan was to keep it simple, informative and enjoyable. We embarked on a programme of corrective gym work to correct the many years of inaction and poor training methods I had already adopted, to looking at how core posture would lead to improved body definition and weight loss and finally having a greater understanding of how food compliments your programme.
Core training focused on corrective posture and the use of weights. This area of training was tough physically in completing the daily programme and also mentally to correct the error of my past training methods but also to understand and change my training programme to reflect how the different types of training methods benefit certain areas of the body.
When we combined this with Gregg's plan for eating healthy wholesome natural foods, it resulted in a drastic improvement to my health and understanding of food. To understand how it can help in improving your body shape from the type of food you eat to the right combinations of ratios and herbs and spices to help with food digestion was amazing. I was eating three healthy meals a day, I wasn't hungry during the day and felt alert all the time and I was actually losing weight as a result. I was also going to early morning markets at the weekends to source healthy foods and enjoyed the planning and cooking up my meals for the week ahead. This aspect of the training was certainly the biggest revelation and even with just this knowledge my training has been worth it alone.
Overall I am very happy and it has been money well spent. There have been many times when the training was tough but within a minute of finishing the session I had such a buzz knowing that I had completed a hard session. I certainly came away walking tall and full of confidence and I look forward to returning to London next year to resume with the hard task master himself Gregg Marsh.

When I went to see Gregg for the first time, my health was at its worst ever. I was struggling with cold after cold, virus after virus, I had no energy and I just felt awful. I also had an SIJ problem which meant that every time I did any aerobic exercise I suffered pain in my back. Nine years of working in a stressful profession had taken its toll on my body and I needed to do something about.
I only had 12 short weeks with Gregg but during that time he transformed my diet, my body, my back pain, energy levels and I have been cold free for 3 months. Gregg started me on lots of core stability exercises to begin with to build up my core and protect my back. We worked on my diet and I realised I had been eating the wrong things at the wrong time of the day. I also realised the importance that sleep and sleeping times play on my body. During the middle and towards the end of the 12 week program we worked on building up muscle tone and losing body fat.
Over the period of working with Gregg I have learnt a lot about how my body works and I have also learnt to take more care of what I eat, drink and do to my body. Gregg has helped me to get my health back.

My attendance at the gym seemed to go in fits and starts. When I went regularly I tended to do the same things and get frustrated by a lack of results. A lot changed after I signed up with Gregg. The discipline of having to make time to go to the gym was the first step. Fairly quickly visits to the gym became more interesting. I was taught a number of exercise programmes but more importantly began to appreciate how limited time can be put to best use. Lastly I gained a far better understanding of nutrition and lifestyle changes that I could implement away from the gym.

Gregg has been my personal trainer for the last 18 months, I started training with Gregg age 39, at a very difficult time in my life.
I had was on a harsh treatment of weekly injections and daily medication of interferon for a chronic liver disorder, I was deeply depressed and very ill with my liver disorder and the horrendous side effects of my medication.
Gregg's understanding of my situation, patient and excellent advice on diet and exercise has really helped me turn my life around. I had always been thin, with a week and boyish type build, I am now very proud of my body! I have excellent definition and flexibility, at 41 I am now the strong man I always longed to be!!! My liver condition, had given me many years of stomach problems, bloating, cramps, diarrhea and constipation, Gregg's dietary advice has meant I no longer suffer with these problems. Years of working hard and standing on my feet all day had left me with bad posture and severe back pain, thanks to Gregg's careful and understanding approach to my exercise routine, my back pain is cured, and I feel I have better posture and flexibility than most people half my age!!!
